Companion Voices

Companion Voices

What? - Introductory workshop to learn more about singing to people at the end of their lives, with Judith Silver of Companion Voices (

Where? - Quaker Meeting House, 5 Berwick Ave, Shrewsbury SY1 2NT

When? - Friday 15th September - 9.30 to 12.30pm (9.30 registration, 10am prompt start)

The finer details of the workshop are to be confirmed, however, the plans so far are:

  • open to all, as a general introduction to singing to the dying, with a secular focus, a mix of talking and singing, hearing about what Judith has done with Companion Voices, learning some of her material
  • it will also be an opportunity for local singers to meet members of Swansong (our local acapella group set up to sing to those at the ends of their lives) and a potential opportunity to find out how to become more involved as associate members of Swansong.
